Margaret Hamilton AM ran Margaret Hamilton Books for almost ten years, an internationally successful company with a reputation for high quality children’s books, which she began with her husband Max. Her Order of Australia Medal (2008) was ‘for service to the arts through the promotion of children’s literature and literacy and through support for authors and illustrators’. Margaret’s passion and recognition for wider promotion of picture books led her to found the Children’s Book Cottage at Blackheath, Pinerolo, in 2010. She is currently Deputy National Chair for the Children’s Book Council of Australia. Her first picture book B is for Bedtime (2014) was a CBCA Notable Book and her second, Counting Through the Day, was launched at the CBCA National Conference in May 2016.

Anna Pignataro has created more than sixty books for children. Her first picture book won the Crichton Award for illustration, and her books have continued to receive award recognition, including multiple commendations from The Children’s Book Council of Australia. Anna’s books have also featured on children’s television programs such as Play School. Many of her picture books have had significant international success – they are published in a wide range of countries and enjoyed in twelve different languages. Through her work, Anna hopes to encourage children to use their imagination, to be inspired by the natural world and to always believe that anything is possible. Anna lives with her husband and daughter near the beach in Melbourne, Australia.
