Born Patrick Michael Paulauski, he soon became Pat Michaels when his broadcasting career started. As a meteorologist Pat has tracked many different kinds of storms, once reporting from the inside of Hurricane Bertha in Florida during a trip on a C-130 hurricane hunter plane. Following his 15-year career at WKMG in Orlando, Florida, Pat traded Florida thunderstorms for lake effect snow when he moved to Michigan.

When Pat isn't on air, he spends time talking to schoolchildren about weather and television forecasting and has always wanted to write about the power of weather. Pat currently resides in Orlando, Florida.

Melanie Rose lives in Mississauga, Canada with her son Liam, and their two cats, Mickey and Meesha. W is for Wind is Melanie's sixth title with Sleeping Bear Press. Melanie is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art.
