With clever peekaboo holes throughout, each page reveals a new set of animals playing and living in the tree--baby bears frolicking in the spring, bees buzzing around apples in the summer, squirrels storing nuts in the fall, and finally the lone owl keeping warm during the winter chill--until another year begins. . . .

Children will love seeing a new set of animals appear and then disappear as each page is turned, and along the way they'll learn about the seasons and how a forest and its inhabitants change throughout the year.

Britta Teckentrup is an award winning illustrator, author and fine artist. She was born in Hamburg and grew up in a city called Wuppertal. She moved to London in 1988 to study illustration and fine art at St Martin's College and the Royal College of Art. Her awards include two Special Mentions at the Bologna Ragazzi Award for Alle Wetter and The Egg. Don't Wake Up Tiger was Dutch picture book of the year 2018 and Under the Same Sky on the shortlist for the Kate Greenaway Award. Since 1993 Britta has written and illustrated over 100 picture books which have been translated into 25 different languages. After 17 years in the UK - Britta now lives and works in Berlin with her Scottish husband and their son Vincent.

Patricia Hegarty has written books about all sorts of things from trees and bees to ABCs (and she loves to rhyme!). She lives in the beautiful Sussex countryside in the UK with her husband Rob. Hobbies include reading (she belongs to a Book Club that has been going strong for 20 years), travel and theatre and she is a recent convert to the benefits of nice long walks in the aforementioned countryside. Patricia began writing when her two daughters were babies and, thirty years later, she is still making up stories. She is currently Editorial Director at the Little Tiger Group.
