Maryann Cusimano Love is an associate professor of politics at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on international relations and US foreign policy. Cusimano Love also teaches courses at the Pentagon. Cusimano Love is also a columnist for the magazine "America," and has served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations project on homeland security, and as a participant in the Religion and Foreign Policy Initiative.

The author lives on the Chesapeake Bay outside of Washington, DC, with her husband Richard and three children, Maria, Ricky, and Ava, who inspire her best-selling children's books.

Satomi Ichikawa is known the world over as a celebrated illustrator and an accomplished storyteller. The illustrator of the Tanya and Nora books and the You Are My . . . series, Ms. Ichikawa has created over twenty of her own books for young people, including Come Fly with Me and I Am Pangoo the Penguin. Ms. Ichikawa sketches and paints out of her Paris apartment, often using her trunk full of stuffed animals as inspiration.
