Nike Bourke won the Queensland Premier’s Literary Award for Best Emerging Author in 2000 for her novel The Bone Flute. She has a Ph.D from Griffith University, and teaches Creative Writing at the Queensland University of Technology. Nike lives in Brisbane with her four children. Her first children’s book, What the Sky Knows, was published in May 2005.

Illustrator Stella Danalis is a well known award-winning Australian fine artist and graphic designer. She has worked on major design accounts including Telstra, the Commonwealth Bank and many Australian children’s books. Stella has worked in a variety of media including 3D constructions, painting and illustrating. She has taught graphic design at Griffith University and currently runs her own design business.
