One evening Mummy is so tired that she falls asleep on Jenny's bed before she has told Jenny and Sue their bedtime story and tucked them in. The children, therefore, put Mummy to bed, tell her a story and tuck her in.

Morag Loh has been a freelance oral historian, lecturer, scholar, curator of photography and writer of children's stories. Her work deals extensively with the immigrant experience, especially that of immigrant women and their children, and some of her works include The Immigrants (1977) with Wendy Lowenstein (q.v.), Growing up in Richmond (1979), Children in Australia : an outline history (1980) with Sue Fabian (q.v.), People and Stories from Indo-China (1982) and The Left-Wing Ladies : the Union of Australian Women in Victoria, 1950-1999 (2000) with Sue Fabian (q.v.). Loh is a former member of the Advisory Council on Multicultural Affairs.

Donna Rawlins is an illustrator, book designer and teacher who has specialised in making books for children for most of her working life. She has won many awards for her work and in 2003 was the recipient of the prestigious Lady Cutler Award, presented by the Children’s Book Council of New South Wales, for her outstanding contribution to the children’s book industry. Donna lives on acreage in the Lower Blue Mountains outside Sydney, New South Wales.
