Emit (whose parents turned back time to name him) is surrounded by busyness. Dad is too busy to read stories, Mum is too busy to play games and Emit's brother and sister are simply too busy doing nothing to do anything, at all. Emit tries everything he can think of to get more time, he tries to catch it, wait for it, but it's not until Emit tries to buy some time that he learns the secret which is, if you want time, you have to make it.

Armin Greder was born May 24, 1942 in Biel, Switzerland. He attended both primary and secondary school, before accepting an apprenticeship in architectural drafting. After he completed his apprenticehsip. he began model building for architects, cartoons, graphic design, illustration. He moved to Australia in 1971. Once in Australia, he made a living doing graphic design work, cartoons, illustration, and book design. In 1978 he began teaching design and illustration at the Queensland College of Art, where he remained until 1998. In 2000, Greder moved back to Switzerland to live and work. Greder received an award for poster design from the Department of the Interior of Switzerland, in 1970. He won the Australian Multicultural Children's Literature Award; the Prime Minister's Department, Canberra, 1992 Commendation; the Australian Book Publishers' Association, 1994 and 1995; the IBBY Honours List, Switzerland, 1996; and the Ragazzi Bologna, in 2000. Greder was shortlisted for Australian picture Book of the Year in 2000; the Luchs #181, Germany, in 2002; the Australian Book Publishers' Association for best designed picture book, in 2002; and the Children's Book Council of Australia: Picture Book of the Year, 2002.
