Saturday Street by Jill Morris
When Elinor and Frank first moved into the street, they thought it was exciting to be living in an old shop. But then they discovered there was nowhere to play outside. At the back of the shop were sheds crammed with junk. At the front the traffic whizzed past. And to make matters worse, the owners of the shops on either side were grumps. Elinor and Frank were lonely, until Frank's birthday came, and Elinor decided to give him a surprise.
