Llama Llama wakes up with a tickly throat. He'll have to stay home and rest instead of going to school. Luckily, he has his mama to bring him medicine and read to him. But as the day wears on, Llama gets bored with being sick, and by lunchtime he's even starting to feel a little better. But, what's this? Mama Llama has a little sniffle and is starting to feel sick herself. Now she's the one who needs to rest. What's a bored little Llama to do? Get more tissues, fluff up Mama's pillow, and bring her some books to read. Llama Llama may be sick at home, but at least he's with his mama.

The Llama Llama picture book series tackles the challenging moments of childhood with honesty and humour, letting children and their parents know that they aren't the only ones who have difficulties, and that a little laughter and love always save the day!

Anna Dewdney was a teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of reading aloud to children. She continually honed her skills as an artist and writer and published her first Llama Llama book in 2005. Her passion for creating extended to home and garden and she lovingly restored an 18th century farmhouse in southern Vermont. She wrote, painted, gardened, and lived there with her partner, Reed, her two daughters, two wirehaired pointing griffons, and one bulldog. Anna passed away in 2016, but her spirit will live on in her books.
