Ole Könnecke was born in 1961 and spent his childhood in Sweden. He now works as a freelance illustrator in Hamburg, Germany. He has won many awards, including the German Youth Literature award in 2005. Catherine Chidgey was born in 1970 and grew up in New Zealand. Her first novel, In a Fishbone Church, was published in 1999. She won the Adam Foundation Prize in Creative Writing at Victoria University in 1997.
